With spring officially here, some trips planned, and summer just around the corner… it’s time to think DENIM SHORTS. This can be a toughie and a dreaded shopping experience… believe me, it’s taken me FOREVER to find a few of the right pair, so I’m helping you out by trying on my 4 go-to pair that I break out for almost all occasions. I love to LIVE in denim shorts and style them dressed up or down. I’m showing you all four with the same top below so you can really see the difference in fit.
Size reference: I’m 5’5 and 112 pounds and typically wear a size 25 in jeans.
TOPSHOP MOM SHORTS
Probably my favorite pair of the pack because I absolutely LOVE the mom short trend. These are super high-waisted with a 11.5 inch rise, distressing at the bottom that get better and better with each wear. I love wearing these with a crop top or swim top since they come up so high and have a very casual feel to them! They would also be PERFECT for festival season!
Fit: Run small, size up. Wearing US 6.
AGOLDE PARKER VINTAGE SHORTS
These have been popular on Instagram for a while and are the perfect beach short. They definitely fit more boyfriend style and while they still are considered a high-waisted pair, they sit below the belly button with a 11.5 inch rise. They also taper out at the bottom making them a tad oversized in the leg — super comfortable for hot days and also making them a breeze to throw on with a swimsuit.
Fit: Run large, size down. Wearing size 24.
AGOLDE DEE SHORTS
When I’m looking for something longer in length, these are the go-to. They hit me a little lower on my leg, so when I want more full coverage, these totally work. They sit super high on the waist as well with a 12.25 inch rise.
Fit: Run large, size down. Wearing size 24.
GRLFRND Cindy High-Rise Short
This is my favorite regular old pair of shorts. They are semi high-rise, but not too much on me, and the length is very standard. These are my go-to when I’m looking for a no-frill look.
Fit: True to size, wearing size 25.
Which pair is your favorite?!
