It was time for a change and I’m officially back to brunette — and, it’s been quite a while since that’s happened. You all know I’m no stranger to switching things up when it comes to my mane, but over the last few months, I’ve been been itching to go back to my roots… literally. I partnered with my new friends over at Strand Salon in Glastonbury, CT (just a few towns away from where I’m based in West Hartford) to give the top of my head a much needed makeover. After a few meetings, we decided the game plan would require an all-hands-on-deck kind of situation — meaning, a few different specialists would have their hands on my locks to give me the best result. My new bestie Jen worked some serious color magic — she darkened my roots and hand-painted some darker, richer browns throughout my head and highlighted some face framing pieces to help give a little warmth towards the front of my hair. She also helped rid me of some leftover ombré that I couldn’t quit! My hair is still growing out from the lob I did back in 2015 — all you chicas who are now hopping on the short hair bandwagon, GET READY. It takes a while to grow out short hair, especially with heat styling. To help give me back a little length and fullness, Lindsay, the extension guru at Strand Salon, added a few rows — and by mixing a few different shades of brunette, it helped give dimension throughout. Then, I was off to Paul for a final snip. I was looking for a blunt cut and as much fullness on the bottom as possible. I am IN LOVE with the final outcome and I’m so excited to continue working with them throughout 2018 — we have some really fun things in the works and you’re going to be seeing a lot of Jen (the owner) on my Instagram Stories. We’re thinking some FAQ time (since I’m always asked about my hair), a little behind-the-scenes on maintenance, and some fun styling! If you’re in Connecticut — I can’t recommend enough! Make sure to tell them I sent you! You can also follow them on Instagram and get a sneak peek of my hair transformation!
Moving on to this jumpsuit situation — I mean… I hate to play favorites, but I’m pretty sure this is the prettiest jumpsuit I’ve ever seen… EVER. When I was in London in the fall with my mom, we got to stop by the Three Floor showroom and I got a sneak peek of this jumpsuit when meeting with the brand. I thought the same as most of you — I thought it was a maxi dress, and then almost fainted when I saw it was actually a wide-leg jumpsuit… freaking genius! Three Floor is hands down one of my absolute dream brands… the attention to detail on their pieces is on another level, so getting to see the newest collections was quite the fun morning for me. I love wearing pieces you don’t see on every single person — you can see me in Three Floor here and here! I also can’t wait to wear this dress from the same collection as this jumpsuit!
