Embroidered Jacket, Cutout Dress, & Stretch Booties c/o Lulus

This warm weather we’ve been having in Connecticut has me thinking ahead to all of the fun events, trips, and weddings we have planned in the coming months — I’m ready to hit fast-forward!  I’m kicking off event season with this statement dress and Lulus, one of my favorite places to shop for dresses for any occasion.  This black dress is actually called the “Conversation Piece Black Dress” and I couldn’t agree more — the cutouts, the slit, the button down open back — ahh, so many details that make it anything but an ordinary LBD.

I paired it with two pieces I’m loving at the moment — this gorgeous embroidered faux leather jacket and these stretch booties for a little edge and warmth while we wait for winter to wrap up.  Embroidered detailing is a huge trend for spring and you can see it on everything from jackets, to sneakers, and even denim.  I love the studded detailing on the back of this jacket and the sleeves — it’s very rocker chic (Raj keeps calling me Axl Rose and I’m totally okay with that).  These stretch booties are another huge trend from last fall that will be carrying over to the spring as well.  These boots look ahhh-mazing under ankle length jeans, but totally steal the show when worn with a dress.  I posted a sneak peek of these pieces the other day and had some of you message me for sizing.  I’m wearing an XS in the jacket (I like leather jacket to fit on the snug side), a small in the dress, and sized a half size up in these booties.
